The Privileges Committee of Parliament will from today, August 5, 2021, begin hearing of the case brought against the Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong.
The MP is being probed for threatening Multimedia journalist Erastus Asare Donkor.
The sitting will be held at 5:00 pm.
The MP for Tamale North dragged Kennedy Agyapong before the Committee asking for him to be probed and punished.
The Assin Central MP had asked for the journalist to be beaten over his reportage on the shooting incident at Ejura.
He called for the reporter to be beaten following the latter’s testimony before the committee that probed the disturbances at Ejura in the Ashanti Region.
His action has been condemned and described as unfortunate considering the incident involving Ahmed Suale an investigative journalist who was also murdered after the MP had exposed his identity on television.
However, the MP has called the bluff of parliament saying he does not care about the outcome of the probe.
