The Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates has reacted to media reports that Parliament has approved a Visa Waiver Agreement between Ghana and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The statement said contrary to claims that Ghana passport holders can travel visa-travel free to UAE, the news is false.
The Embassy asked the public to disregard all such publications and messages.
It clarified that although the agreement has been ratified, the implementation processes have not been completed.
Parliament has approved a Visa Waiver Agreement between Ghana and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The agreement is in respect of diplomatic, service/special and ordinary passport holders.
It follows the adoption of the Foreign Affairs Committee Report on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the government, represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration and the UAE on mutual exemption of entry visa requirements in respect of diplomatic, service/special and ordinary passport holders.
The Embassy reacting said it would communicate any changes to the current entry visa regime between Ghana and UAE when the agreement comes into force.
