Deputy Director of Sanitation at e Ministry of Sanitation Mr. Sampson Akwettey has indicated that adaptation for this government is crucial.
He said sanitation in Ghana has become one of the major headaches of every government and the nation as a whole but this administration has managed to do its best.
Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5 Fm, the Deputy Director emphasized that the ministry is working hard to ensure the implementation of good sanitation in the country.
” Sanitation isn’t mainly the first day of every month as the previous administration implemented. To this administration, every day is a sanitation day in the country,” he said.
He added that the ministry is working hard to ensure policies and training programs for individuals and assembly.
To him,” the enforcement of policy for the sanitation project is mainly based on individuals, organizations and the Assembly. So the implementation of the sanitation project must be handled by the Assembly. The by-laws of the Assembly must be enforced to help the ministry,” he added.
He stated that the Assembly is supported by the ministry whenever there is a need.
“The ministry is working hard to make Ghana the cleanest country in Africa. The Assembly gets support from the ministry to bring up structures that will help their neighborhoods.
We have been able to build toilet facilities and structures that will help implement proper sanitation in various Assembly,” he stated.
