A communication team member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Michael Ofosuhene has appealed to President Akufo-Addo to release the list of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).
Ofosuhene believes the appointment of MMDCEs was long overdue.
He stated on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that there is currently tension in town over the delays, and it would be prudent for the appointing authority and the leadership of the party to have the list released by the close of the week.
He said the functions of the MMDCEs are crucial to the development of the various assemblies, hence the need for them to be appointed.
He was optimistic the President would release the list of appointees to kill the tension in the various assemblies.
He was hopeful competent and dedicated persons would be appointed to hold the office.
Meanwhile, he is advocating for the current MCE for Okaikoi North Nii Boi Laryea to be changed.
He claims that the MCE lacks what it takes to be retained.
To him, the MCE lacks a rapport in working with people, and due to that, he is finding it difficult to work with people.
He further examined that the poor performance of the MCE caused the defeat of the NPP in the 2020 polls in the constituency.
He said comparing the results the party garnered in 2016 and 2020, the performance of the NPP stopped drastically all because Nii Boi Laryea was incompetent.
He added that residents are also against the current MCE, and it would be prudent for the President to remove him from office.
