Communication expert Raymond Ablorh has described as childish President Akufo-Addo’s reference to Daniel Yaw Domelevo in his recent address to some civil society groups on corruption.
According to Mr. Ablorh, the President did that because he is feeling so guilty he’s to defend his vindictive action with such infantile utterances.
The President had stated that the acting auditor General Mr. Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu for his work in the fight against corruption since his appointment
President Akufo-Addo said Mr. Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu has demonstrated the quality of work and independence of view so far.
He said the acting AG has done what the former AG could not do.
“The Acting Auditor-General has demonstrated sufficient quality and independence of view. For instance, he is responsible for some things that are unheard of. In our history, the 12 statutory reports that have to be compiled and placed before Parliament in the year of Parliament, this is the first time it has ever been done.”
“Even the most touted Auditor General before him never managed to do it and this one has done it. I think on the basis of the work that he has done, the independence with which he has gone around with his work, if today efforts are made to confirm him, I believe it should be done, and that confirmation process will gather more public support.”
But Raymond Ablorh says the reference to Domelevo was childish.
“He’s sacked the man and appointed his favourite who would protect the likes of Osafo Marfo and do as he says.
The dust has settled and he’s plundered our COVID funds with his family and friends without any forensic audit.
Instead of him fighting corruption and protecting the public purse, he’s misbehaving, reminding us of what he did to Domelevo.
What Mahama did to fight corruption he too couldn’t do; under Mahama, his own people like Abuga Pele were sent to court; monies were retrieved from the bus branding scandal and Dzifa Ativor lost her; Victoria Hamah who stole no money went home over sharing her financial aspiration in politics.
What has he, Akufo-Addo been able to do better than this? He is rather described by the very Special Prosecutor he appointed that he is the Mother Serpent hiding under the corruption flower,” he said.

I’m tempted to think that it’s true that when people grow old they become children again.
But, our history tells us he’s just doing the kind of politics his fathers and uncles did. That’s the effect of the kind of political socialisation he got.
