A middle-aged man, Papa Kwabena, has allegedly murdered his wife at Assin Fosu in the Assin Central District.
It remains unclear why Papa Kwabena murdered the wife.
After allegedly committing the offence Papa Kwabena reportedly attempted to commit suicide by slashing his throat with a knife.
He could, however, not succeed as some residents in the area rushed to the scene and stopped him from committing suicide.
Narrating the incident on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87. Fm, Isaac Nana Essien said the man allegedly slashed the wife multiple times, cut-oo some parts of her body.
Isaac Nana Essien disclosed that a resident in the area saw two of the children of Papa Kwabena stained with blood.
She tried asking why they were stained in blood. However, the children did not understand the language which the resident spoke.
She then led them to their house, where she saw the wife of Papa Kwabena lying in a pool of blood with the suspect in the process of killing himself.
She raised an alarm which drew the attention of some residents who stopped the man from committing suicide.
He is currently on admission at6a the hospital.
The Police has also9 taken over the matter.
