Former President John Dramani Mahama sent a team to represent him at the final departure of the body of Syed Taaley-the British journalist who was brutally murdered by armed robbers on the Bupei Tamale road, prayer ceremony before the body was taken off to London
The team was made up of Hon Dr Rashid Pelpuo, Alhaji Mohammed Mamah, Organiser of Zongo Caucus, Alhaji Mohammed Cole, Alhaji Mustafa Abubakar, Alhaji Yahaya Kundow, Alhaji Ashka Steven, and Alhaji Imam Sanda, Former Ambassador.
Regretfully, as seriously and embarrassing the incident of the murder to the image and integrity of the Ghanaian security system, no government official showed up at this ceremony.
The team leader, Hon Dr Pelpuo, conveyed the Former President’s deep condolences to the Ahmadiyya mission and the people of Great Britain for the sad loss.
Ameer and Leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission on his part expressed his profound gratitude on behalf of the Muslim Mission to President Mahama and the NDC for offering to share in their utmost grief.
