Branch Youth Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Awutu Nyarkokwaa in the Awutu Senya West Constituency, Ebenezer Akrade, has allegedly been butchered.
The victim was reportedly attacked in a disagreement over money.
Mr. Akrade is said to have been attacked over Ghc600 given to them by the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Gizella Tetteh Agbotui, to be shared among party executives.
The Branch Secretary, Emmanuel Kwame Lartey, is reported to have spent the money at the expense of other party executives, incurring the wrath of the branch youth organizer, Ebenezer Akrade, who demanded his share of the money.
The money was said to have been given to the branch chairman to be shared but the chairman and secretary refused to share the money.
After he was confronted, he claimed the money would be shared.
However, that did not happen following which the incident occurred.
The youth organizer in the area demanded his share of the money after it was discovered that the Secretary spent the money without their knowledge.
The organizer is said to have met the secretary who was on his way to the farm.
The secretary was wielding a cutlass.
The youth organizer then confronted him and demanded his share.
The secretary allegedly pushed the youth organizer who fell on his back and allegedly butchered him.
He later handed himself over to the Police.
