Charity Center for Capacity Building and Development(CHACDET) held free health screening exercise in Accra on Friday 15th October, 2021 as part of its adult school launching activity.
CHACDET, which is an NGO has been operating in the North- East region of Ghana since 2009 and offering literacy and education to adults.
A branch of CHACDET adult school has been launched to begin operation in Accra, Abelemkpe.
Speaking with Rainbow Radio, The Director of CHACDET Madam Sedinam Mamnara stated that “CHACDET has been working in the North-East region providing vocational and literacy education to adults and we have decided to same in Accra to assist adults who could not go to formal education,” she said.
According to her, the school is open for those who are above eighteen years.
“Aside from we teaching how to read and write we also give vocational training to the learners so in that in the end, the learners will gain the opportunity to be self-employed”, she added.
Beneficiaries of the free health screening expressed gratitude to the NGO and wished them well.
They were also optimistic the centre would be beneficial to the community and help adults access education and build their capacity.
