A group calling itself Action Movement that is affiliated with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has thrown their support behind Dr. Kwabena Duffour.
The group says the former finance minister is the best hope for the umbrella family in 2024.
To them, Dr. Duffour is an excellent choice as a candidate for the party because he will give the NDC a resounding victory.
The leader of the group, Mr. James Agbey in an interview with the Daily Graphic newspaper stated that Dr. Duffour is an indigen from the Ashanti region, and that will help them secure more votes for the party.
In his view, if elected, Dr. Duffour would be able to mobilise more votes for the NDC to ensure they form government in 2024.
He urged party supporters to see the upcoming primaries of the party as an internal democratic exercise.
He said the NDC believes in democracy, and members would definitely have candidates they support.
