Private legal practitioner lawyer Adu Tutu Jr. has posited that the Police should have investigated the prophet who prophesied about the death of dancehall musician Shatta Wale.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he explained that the prophecy created fear and panic and it was the responsibility of the Police to have interrogated him.
A popular Ghanaian prophet, Bishop Stephen Akwasi, aka Jesus Ahoufe, in September predicted the death of dancehall musician Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., aka Shatta Wale.
According to the founder and leader of New Life Kingdom Chapel International, the “Ayoo” hitmaker will lose his life in a robbery attack on October 18, 2021.
He disclosed the doom prophecy during an interview on Accra FM on Tuesday, September 28.
He likened Shatta Wale’s doom prophesy to the death of South African reggae star, Lucky Dube, who was shot dead in the Johannesburg suburb of Rosettenville on the evening of October 18, 2007.
After the prophecy was delivered, Shatta Wale took offence and described the prophecy as fake.
He and his team to the shock of Ghanaians on Monday, October 18, 2021 staged a shooting incident.
The news of his shooting incident went viral on social media but the Police said it was investigating the matter.
But it had emerged that the shooting incident was staged.
The musician later issued a statement apologizing stating that he was sorry for feigning the shooting since he was under threat.
Lawyer Adu Tutu Jr. reacting to the incident said the action by the musician was not proper.
However, the Police could have invited and interrogated the man of God over his prophesy.
He indicated that what the man of God was to create fear and alarm.
The lawyer noted that the prophesy of the man of God showed that we were not safe as a country.
He said the law court will not look at the spiritual aspect of the matter.
But look at the fear and panic aspect of the matter.
“The Police could have arrested the prophet because he was creating fear and alarm. Shatta Wale could have also reported the matter to the Police.”
