The Youth of Manso Adubia and other communities have hit the street against cheating by ASANKO GOLD, a Canadian company currently operating in the district.
The residents are claiming that the mining company has for the past seven years mined gold in the area without constructing even a single classroom for the communities affected by their activities.
The aggrieved results alleged that an existing agreement i.e the social responsibility forum (SRF) requires that for every ounce of gold sold, 2 USD is deducted for community development.
However, this has not been done for the past seven years, the residents stated.
They further alleged that the mining company had connived and with chiefs in the area to deprive them of their benefits.
The Youth say for seven years, the Gold Mining Company owes around $2million in the SRF to the community and have prepared to petition the High Commission of Canada to Ghana, Togo and Sierra Leone.
