Residents of Yakey in Suhum Municipality of the Eastern Region have appealed to the government to, as a matter of urgency, provide them with good drinking water.
The residents say they are currently under threat because their source of water is not portable.
According to them, they have never tasted or enjoyed potable water even though they are part of the country.
The residents told Rainbow Radio that their source of water is not safe because it is a contaminated stream.
The assembly member of the area Debrah Benkoi disclosed that they have no option other than to depend on the pollute stream.
He was worried that communicable diseases such as cholera and guinea worm infestation were very common in the community due to the current situation.
He claimed that several appeals were made to the Municipal Chief Executive, but all have yielded no fruits.
