The former Deputy Minister of Communications, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, has accused President Akufo-Addo of politicizing state institutions especially the Electoral Commission (EC).
He is claiming that the gravitas and nous brought to the electoral body the former chairpersons Afari Gyan, Kanga and Safo Kantanka and Charlotte Osei are completely missing.
In his view, the current chairpersons at the EC are sounding like officials of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) instead of being independent as a body that manages elections in Ghana.
He asserted the current leadership at the EC is the worst we have witnessed in Ghana.

One of the downsides of the Akufo-Addo era, which thankfully ends in a little over three years,is the deliberate weakening and politicization of independent state institutions through the appointment of known NPP partisans as heads.
The worst affected is the Electoral Commission, which through the Jean Mensah,Bossman Asare NPP tag team, has been reduced to an appendage of the NPP headquarters.
The gravitas and nous brought to that institution by the likes of Messrs Afari Gyan,Kanga and Safo Kantanka and Charlotte Osei are completely missing.
The current occupants appear irascible and have no difficulty sounding like NPP officials in their response to critical issues raised about their work.
This is far and away, the worst leadership that revered institution has had to date and it is little wonder that the one election they have organized led to the slaughter of 8 Ghanaians.
