A former deputy communication minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu has taken on the Police for their decision to head to the Supreme Court in seeking an order to arrest Madina MP, Francis-Xavier Sosu.
He said for 11 months after the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections, some eight persons were killed, and yet, the Police has done nothing to address it, yet they want to go to the apex court to seek an order to arrest the Madina MP.
He wrote: ”It has been 11 whole months since 8 people were killed during elections. There is a Minister of State who fired a weapon unlawfully during a registration exercise.
Absolutely nothing has happened in these matters and yet the Police wants to go all the way to Supreme Court so they can arrest an opposition MP because he addressed a protest by his constituents on government’s failure to address the deplorable state of their roads.
I am not one to join the bandwagon of misplaced praise for the IGP.He hasn’t been different save for showboating in the arrest of errant and misguided artists for relatively insignificant offenses.
He hasn’t been able to deal with political heavyweights belonging to the NPP. When he does that, then he would have arrived.
Let us stop lowering the threshold for being pleased.”
