The Kaneshie Magistrate District Court in Accra has adjourned the case involving Madina MP Francis-Xavier Sosu, to November 16, 2021, because he is out of the country.
The MP is said to be on an official parliamentary assignment.
The prosecution told the court on Monda, November 8, 2021, that they had received a letter from the Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin informing them that the MP was out of the country on an official assignment.
The Police had officially charged him for causing damage to public property.
The Director-General, Public Affairs Directorate of the Police Service, ACP Kwasi Ofori, told journalists last week that the MP had been duly served and was expected to appear in court.
But he is currently not in Ghana and attending parliamentary duties, and for that reason, the court adjourned the case.
