The chiefs and people in the Okaikrom in the Upper West Akim District have appealed to President Akufo-Addo to extend electricity to the community.
The residents told Rainbow Radio’s Prince Collins Bening that the lack of electricity in the area is depriving them of socio-economic development.

It was their view that when the electrification project is extended to the community, it will improve the quality of life, facilitate community services such as health and education.
They also believe it would also improve business activities in the area.
They are also demanding access to quality education and want the government to construct schools in the area.
The residents want schools from the KG to the secondary level.
According to them, the lack of education in the community has forced the children to engage in labour work.
They want the issues to be addressed immediately.
