Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu has opined that the 2022 budget presented in parliament by Finance Minister Ken Ofor-Atta will worsen the plight of Ghanaians.
Commenting on the presentation on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, he said Ghanaians are going to experience extreme hardship because the budget did not present any hope.
In a witty way, in describing the budget, he said ‘Krom Ayeshi’ to wit the system would not be able to bear the hardship adding, ‘the system is hot’.
Haruna Iddrisu said the Finance Minister would go into the Guinness Book of Records as the Minister had borrowed more in Ghana’s history but did less with it.
In his view, the government did not factor the suffering of Ghanaians but rather imposed further suffering and the 1.75% levy on momo transactions and other electronic services.
He said Ghanaians must embrace themselves for more suffering because the budget presented had nothing innovative and policies to reduce the burden of Ghanaians.
Meanwhile, the Majority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah disagreed, saying the 2022 budget will bring hope and opportunities to the unemployed.
