A 58-year-old woman, Akua Saa has been arrested for allegedly slapping the Kyebi District Police Commander, Chief Supt. Magnus Reindorf Sam.

The woman was arrested for preventing the Police from arresting her son, Frederick Sarkodie, and three others who were allegedly engaging in the trading of narcotics.

The suspects arrested were Akua Saa, Margaret 28, Kingsley Sarkodie, 22, Vivian Saa, 33, Fiago Gilbert, 38, and Frederick Sarkodie.

They were arrested at Akyem Sagyimase in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The Police arrested the suspects in a swoop led by the Kyebi Police Commander with 20 armed policemen.
The woman allegedly prevented the Police from arresting his son in a struggle and ended up slapping the commander.

The Police managed to retrieve 20 wraps of substances suspected to be narcotics, several dried leaves suspected to be marijuana, a lighter, and a knife from the suspects.
