Organized the #FixTheCountry demonstration have abandoned their members at the main entrance of Ghana’s Parliament.
The demonstrators had arrived at the entrance to submit a petition to the House on their request to have the E-Levy introduced in the 2021 budget withdrawn.
However, they were prevented from entering the House on grounds that they were too many.
The leadership of the group, Katakyie Afrifa a broadcast, journalist and some others engaged with the leadership of the House to allow them entry.
They were then asked to elect five persons to represent them and present the petition.
They refused and exchanged disagreements with the leadership of Parliament until they were asked to make the number 10.
But there was still confusion as to who would be selected.
Reporting from the scene, Rainbow Radio’s Fiifi Ankomah said the leadership of the demonstrators abandoned them, sat in their cars, and drove off.
The demonstrators have also vowed to remain at the scene until their leaders return.
