The Ghana Police Service says it would no longer display the faces if suspects who have not been convicted.
According to the Police, it would only display the faces of suspects who have been properly convicted before a competent court of jurisdiction.
The service explained that the move is to help the police “to become a world-class Police organisation and the best institution in the country, serving as a reference point in Africa and beyond.”
Meanwhile, it has explained that suspects who are declared wanted by the courts with a warrant of arrest for various offences, shall, where necessary, have their faces and other physical attributes published for purposes of identification, arrest, and prosecution.
