The Asamankese branch of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), in the Eastern Region, has organized a stakeholder meeting on ways to have an accident-free period during the festive season.
The meeting offered participants to range and deliberate on ways to prevent accidents in the area for the whole period of Christmas and the new year.
Alhaji Abdul Salam, the Accra branch chairman who graced the occasion advised drivers to be disciplined on our roads.
He urged them to avoid unnecessary overspeeding, overtaking, and other acts that are in breach of the road regulations.
He explained that drivers have a responsibility to have lives and not waste them through their careless driving.
To the passengers, he admonished them to hold drivers to account, break the silence whenever drivers drive carelessly on our roads.
He asked them to report drivers who drive careless so their leaders would deal with them.
