A kindergarten teacher of Awaham Presby Basic School in the Lower West Akyem district of Eastern region, Rita Serwaa Asare has shared joy following a donation of a television set to the school.
The school says the donation of the television set by Bugudon Mining Company has stopped absenteeism in the school.
According to the school, pupils were not active in school and were engaging in galamsey instead of coming to school.
Madam Asare expressed gratitude to the company saying the television set has helped in encouraging the students to come to school.
She disclosed that aside from the mining activities, most of the pupils participate in farming instead of coming to school.
She explained that the television set held them to have practical demonstrations with the pupils.
