The Electricity Company of Ghana has restored power to residents of Yilo Krobo Municipality and Lower Manya Krobo Municipality in the Eastern region.
The residents in the area had lived without power supply for a week after the power distributor cut power to the two communities.
The residents were full of joy on Sunday afternoon after power was restored in the areas affected.
Residents had threatened the staff of ECG over error reading metres supplied to them.
The ECG relocated their office after they were threatened to leave or face the wrath of the residents.
The ECG also attributed the power cut to unpaid bills and illegal connections.
Over the weekend the Inspector General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare was in the community to engage with stakeholders on the matter.
He cautioned the youth against the destruction of properties and attack his men.
He warned the Police will not spare persons who would engage in lawlessness.
