Some angry traders who sell along the pavement in front of the old UTC building have held a demonstration today, Monday, December 12, 2021.
The traders have accused a developer of destroying their showcases because she claimed they had no right to sell on the pavement.
The said developer claims ownership of the area where the traders sell and have asked them to vacate.
They resumed work on Monday only to discover that the developer had destroyed their showcases which they use to sell.
They warned the developer by name of Madam Agatha they (traders) will not move because the area they trade does not belong to her.
Rainbow Radio’s Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi who reported from the scene said the traders clad in red demanded an intervention from the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.
The traders the issue to be resolved because they are unwilling to move.
