President Akufo-Addo has reacted to the suggestion by Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin that there is no majority in parliament.
The President is of the view that the NPP constitutes the majority group in the House contrary to claims by the Speaker that the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) does not have majority power in Parliament.
The Speaker had consistently stated that the NPP does not have the power to think it has the majority in the 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic.
Bagbin further explained that one of the people who made the New Patriotic Party the majority in parliament is now the second deputy speaker.
But reacting, the President said the Standing Orders of Parliament recognizes the Majority Group and that is what the NPP constitutes.
He described the claims as noise, stressing that the NPP is the majority group in Ghana.
President Akufo-Addo commended the party for their hard work and measuring victory in 2020.
