A young man has been lynched after he was accused of stealing Ghc20 by an angry mob at Hwenampori a suburb of Bibiani in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.
The timely intervention of the Bibiani District Police Petrol Team saved his life.
The young man has sustained serious cutlass wounds on his hand and the leg.
Information gathered by Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm indicates that the suspect Akwasi Nyamekye came from Nzawura and resides side at Bibiani Old town.
The Assemblymember for the area, Mr.Adam Smith explained that he was passing by when he saw several people gathered in the area.
Upon reaching the scene, he was informed that the suspect allegedly stole Gh¢ 20.00 from a store.
The suspect is currently on administration at the Bibiani Government Hospital receiving treatment with handcuffs tied to the hospital bed.
