A former member of Parliament for Kade, lawyer Ofosu Asamoah has slammed parliamentarians for the commotion and exchange of blows in the house, on Monday, December 21, 2021.
Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he said the members misbehaved themselves.
The former legislator noted that the members must deliberate on issues through consensus, and reach a point where the interest of Ghanaians would be paramount.
He asserted that what happened was not only disgraceful but unwarranted.
To him, the House is a house of order and deliberations, and no matter the circumstances, members must not take entrenched positions but be candid in their opinions, allow democracy to prevail, and also respect each other.
According to him, he feels disappointed that the House he was once an MP went into the gutters and dragged the name of the House into disrepute.
“What happened in parliament was disgraceful. The MPs misbehaved, I pray such an unfortunate behaviour does not occur again”.
He advised the House to adopt an approach that would prevent another chaotic situation.
