The Deputy Majority Leader in parliament, Mr. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo Markin has taken a swipe at the speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon Alban Sumana Bagbin.
He is accusing him of being part of frustrating and obstructing government business in Parliament.
He asserted that the Speaker remains the law sovereign and president of the house and considering the critical members 138 majority and 137 minority groups, is the time they expect Mr. Speaker to show leadership.
“I regret to say that we can not proceed to take decisions without Mr speaker. We need the speaker of Parliament in the house” he said
According to him, the Minority had supported the E-Levy but their current position is shocking.
He claimed that the House expected to pass the levy following the approval of the appropriation bill.
“The E-levy is aimed at spreading and sharing the tax burden across board so that all of us will make our little contribution.” he said.
