He assured Ghanaians that the Service was prepared to deal with officers who misconduct themselves.

He further advised officers to desist from conduct that will make the public lose trust in the service.

“It is my hope that the few officers who are engaged in acts of misconduct and unprofessionalism that make the public look down on us and overlook all our patriotic sacrifices, shall desist from these practices in the new year and beyond, for us to regain the trust, confidence and respect of the public.”

Christmas and New Year Message of The Inspector-General of Police to Personnel of the Service

We give glory to God Almighty for our lives and that of our families. He has been very merciful and gracious towards us.

As we show gratitude to God for how far He has brought us , we take this opportunity to eulogize our colleagues who passed on during the year. The Police Administration will do what is required to support their surviving families. Let us continue to keep them in our prayers.

I would like to commend you all, for your courage, patriotic selflessness and unalloyed dedication towards the maintenance of law and order. We are proud of you and we will not take you for granted, we recognise that your efforts contribute greatly to the peace and security of this country.

It is my hope that the few officers who are engaged in acts of misconduct and unprofessionalism that make the public look down on us and overlook all our patriotic sacrifices, shall desist from these practices in the new year and beyond, for us to regain the trust, confidence and respect of the public.

We wish to assure you once again that, as leaders of the Service, we are available to listen to your concerns and ideas on how to transform the Service into a world-class institution and the most respected organisation in Ghana.

On behalf of the leadership of the Service, I wish all Officers a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
