The directive from Police on doomsday prophecies will separate the fake prophets from the genuine ones-Kyiri Abosom

December 30, 2021

The General Overseer of Life Assembly Worship Centre, Reverend Christian Kwabena Andrews aka Osofo Kyiri Abosom has commanded the Inspector-General of Police Dr.George Akuffo Damapre for the directive issued reminding prophets of the legal implications of their doomsday prophecies.

The man of God believes this will bring sanity into the system and prevent some fake prophets from taking advantage of people with their fake prophecies.

The Ghana Police Service has sent a strong warning to prophets who publicly spell doom on people especially celebrities in the country.

According to the police, such acts are against the laws of Ghana, and prophets who engage in such activities will be prosecuted.

The Police in its latest statement said such persons could face up to five years in prison if their prophecies create fear and panic.

The statement reminded the prophets that fact that whereas we have the right to religion, freedom of worship, and free speech, all of these rights are subject to the respect for the rights and freedoms of others according to our laws.

The Police statement said it was unlawful for anyone to publish or reproduce a statement that is likely to cause fear and alarm to the public or to disturb public peace.

It also cautioned the public to be reminded that it is criminal to use electronic and other communication services to send misleading information likely to prejudice the efficiency of life-saving service or endanger the safety of any person.

Reacting, Osofo Kyiri Abosom said the directive was a step in the right direction.

He asserted that the prophets who are complaining should keep mute and obey the laws of Ghana.

To him, if their prophecies are genuine as they claim, they should go ahead and prophesy and see the outcome.

He said we have entertained some of these false prophets for far too long and it was about time they were dealt with.

He urged the IGP not to relent in his efforts in dealing with the prophets who would break the law.

He stressed all prophets who would breach the law must not be spared. They must be arrested and prosecuted.

He promised to personally give information to the Police on any prophet who would breach the law.
