NADMO could offer support to tidal waves victims because they are broke-Gomashie

December 31, 2021

The Member of Parliament for the Ketu South Constituency Abla Dzifa Gomashie has opined that the inability of the National Disaster Management Organisation to adequately respond to the needs of victims of tidal wave destructions along the Keta Lagoon is because they are broke.

According to her, there were several of the over 4,000 victims who were displaced by the tidal waves sleeping on the streets despite the assurances from government officials that temporal structures will be provided for the victims who have lost virtually everything to the sea.

The over 4,000 victims were residents at Salakope-Amutinu, Adina Agavedzi, and Fuveme.

He had urged the government to put measures to address the issue in the coming year.

Reflecting on the year 2021, the Ketu South MP noted that her constituents, especially those along the coast have had a very terrible year.

She extended gratitude to individuals and corporate institutions that donated items to the victims.
