A former Mayor of Accra Mr. Solomon Ofei Darko has died.
His death was confirmed by his son, Nii Doodu to journalists on Tuesday, January 4 after a short illness at the Greater.
The late Ofei Darko served as AMA boss under the Kufuor administration 2000-2003.
He was born on 26th January 1936 and died at the age of 86 years.
He was Environmental Programme Coordinator at the Borough of Hackney, London, UK prior to his appointment as the Mayor.
He joined Comptran Engineering and Planning Associates as a Programme Coordinator in 1994.
He was also a past President of the Ghana Amateur Boxing Association (GABA).
