The Asamankese Circuit Court has sentenced
Stephen Anane Ayitey, 32, to four years imprisonment in hard labour for attempting to assaulting and attempting to rape Madam Grace Asiamah.
The court presided over Abass Abubakar Adams sentenced the convict on his own plea.
Reporting the incident on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, Prince Collins Bening said the convict attacked his victim on her way from an all-night service.
The convict trailed the victim, assaulted her, and dragged her to the ground so he could sexually abuse her.
The victim struggled with the convict and appealed to him not to rape her because she had Ghc200 on her and would prefer to give it to him.
The convict agreed and took the Ghc200 and left the victim at the scene.
The victim later reported the attack to the Police and had the suspect arrested since she knew him as a resident in the area.
He was charged on two counts i.e assault and indecent assault.
On the assault, he was handed 18 months whereas, on the indecent assault, he was handed 30 months.
The sentencing the court said is to run concurrently.
