The Ashanti regional police command has retrieved a stolen vehicle with a baby on board.
The Corolla saloon car was allegedly snatched from the owner at the premises of Good Hope Chapel in Santasi, Kumasi, on, Sunday, January 16.
Confirming the incident, the regional Police PROD, ASP Godwin Ahianyo said the command had information about the stolen vehicle from its owner with a child on board at Santasi at the Good Hope Church by two unknown gunmen.
The Police following the report deployed all patrol vehicles and motorbikes within the metropolis in search of the stolen vehicle.
He said sensing danger upon the approach of the Police vehicles, the suspects abandoned the vehicle at Ahodwo and fled into a nearby bush.
The vehicle was driven to the regional headquarters and the child reunited with the mother.
He added that the Police were still pursuing the suspects.
He assured the general public of the command’s resolve to ensure that the metropolis is safe as well as the region.
He further appealed to the general public to give the police credible information that will help them clamp down on suspected criminals.
