A Ghanaian based in Dubai, Nana Arhin, has decried the failure of Ghanaians to adhere strictly to the Covid-19 safety protocols especially the wearing of the facemask.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm from his base in Dubai, he said the wearing of a face mask is mandatory and comes with a fine if don’t wear it.
He told host Kwabena Agyapong that one could be fined about Ghc3,000 when seen without a face mask.
He indicated that without a face mask, no one would give you an audience in any facility.
He explained that this has instilled discipline in everyone because you cannot go out without your face mask.
He said, when you are caught without a facemask, your ID would be taken, then you are fined and made to pay to serve as a deterrent”.
He admonished Ghanaians to adhere to the safety protocols to help contain the spread of the virus.
He said in Dubai, the discipline is high and everyone always wears a face mask. Without a facemask, nobody would attend to you. Without your facemask, you cannot be served at any facility in Dubai”.
He maintained that the virus was real and denying yourself that the virus was real is a threat to your own life and those around you.
He also asked Ghanaians to take the vaccination to help contain the spread.
