Suspended Second Vice Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Crabbe, is set to join the Chairmanship race of the governing party, Rainbowradioonline.com has gathered.
Our sources say, he is being prepared to contest the race as a candidate who is seen as a grassroots person with the experience to unite the region.
Our sources say, he is being presented as a strong candidate following the sudden demise of former Greater Accra Regional Minister Ishmael Ashitey, who until his death, had expressed interest in contesting the seat which is currently being occupied by Freddie Blay.
A poster announcing his candidacy seen by this website has described him as someone with a proven track record of competence, unified, and a man who had consistently championed the rights and welfare of all party executives as well as members of the party.
Mr. Crabbe was suspended by the elephant family a year into the 2016 general elections, by the National Executive Committee.
He was suspended indefinitely alongside then-General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong and then-Chairman Paul Afoko.
The trio were suspebded for, among other things, making utterances that were injurious to the chances of the then-opposition party’s presidential candidate at the time, Nana Akufo-Addo.
Despite his suspension, Mr. Crabbe is set to join the race.
We have also picked information that all the necessary protocols needed to have him cont had been followed.
