January 25, 2022

The Assin Nyankomasihene who is also the Aboabomanhene and the Benkumhene of Atendansu Traditional Council, Nana Kwaku Apotei IV, has stated emphatically that residents who refuse to participate in communal labour would be made to buy two bags of cement as their punishment.

He said every resident is mandated to participate in communal activities as part of efforts to transform the area and build unity and togetherness.

He indicated that persons who refuse to buy the bags of cement would be summoned before the Palace and subsequently taken to court.

Nana Kwaku Apotei IV said this at his 10th anniversary celebration held at Assin Nyankumasi the headquarters of Aboabo Divisional Council in the Assin Foso Municipality of the Central Region.

The traditional leader said the directive is not meant to scare anyone but to ensure residents participate in communal labour.

“Let me state here and now that persons who refuse to participate in communal labour would be made to buy two bags of cement as their punishment. If they refuse, I will summon them before the throne and subsequently take them to court.

This is not meant to scare anyone but to ensure that residents participate in communal labour. We all have a responsibility in helping in the development of this area and Ghana as a whole. Let us be guided by that and help our community develop,” he added.
