The Member of Parliament for Builsa South Dr. Clement Apaak has described as senseless the description of the recently launched Atta-Mills Heritage as fake.
The legislator posited that the organization cannot be described as such when close relatives of the late President were founding fathers.
The Founder of the Atta-Mills Institute Koku Anyidoho has described organizers of the John Evans Atta Mills Memorial Heritage as hypocrites.
According to him the organizers of the Memorial Heritage refused to support his institute which seeks to iconize and preserve the legacy of the late President Atta Mills.
He also accused them of theft.
In a series of tweets, the former director of communications at the presidency under the late Prof. Mills accused the founders of stealing the colours of the Atta-Mills Institute.
“People of Ghana, respectfully, please check out the coloure of this, Fake and criminally-minded pretenders. They stole the Green & White colours of the Atta-Mills Institute, & when we exposed them, they run for, blue. I am laughing myself to stitches,” he tweeted minutes after Former President John Dramani Mahama launched the Heritage at the Cedi Conference Centre at the University of Ghana on Tuesday, February 1 2022, under the theme: “The man John Evans Atta Mills – 10 years on.
Mr. Anyidoho in another tweet slammed the founders and accused them of squandering the money meant for the construction of the Atta Mills memorial library.
Wonderful edifice: they’ve squandered the cash squeezed out of the Telcos ostensibly to build this in memory of Prez Atta-Mills, so the contractor has refused to release the keys to the building & it is rotting away in Cape Coast @ the mercy of the sea breeze. Heritage”.
Reacting, Dr. Apaak wondered why someone would describe the founders as charlatans and thieves when the brothers of the late Mills are founding fathers of the Heritage.
He tweeted “Hon. Samuel Mills and Dr. Cadman Mills, brothers of the late Prez Mills are founding Board and Governing Council members of the JEAM Memorial Heritage. How can anyone describe such an organisation as fake, and run by charlatans and thieves? Does it make sense?”
