The government of Ghana has lifted the temporary travel restriction on all non-Ghanaian travellers arriving from South Korea.
The lifting of the ban according to a statement issued by the Foreign Affairs takes effect from 4th February 2022.
The Ministry had placed a temporal ban on on non-Ghanaian travellers as part of efforts to contain the spread of the Omnicron variant.
The ban on South Korea was expected to be in effect for 14 days, but the government extended the ban.
On December 20, 2021, the travel restriction on Israel, South Korea, and Malta took effect.
The Ministry had explained that the intervention was in line with the government’s drive to control the importation of the Omicron variant of the Covid-19 into the country.
