I’m not planning a coup-Mahama

Former President John Mahama has denied making any attempts to stage a coup.

The former President’s response follows an allegation by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe also known as Abronye DC.

A statement from the office of Mr. Mahama denied the allegation adding that “H.E John Dramani Mahama has not met with any group of people, let alone a terrorist group, to plot to stage a coup d’etat.”

The statement signed by Aid to the former President, Joyce Bawah Mogtari further disclosed that “This is not the first time Abronye has made such despicable and reprehensible allegations and caused same to be published about President Mahama and many other leading members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).”

Meanwhile, Abronye DC was granted bail of ghc100,000 after he was dragged to court and officially charged with the Publication of false news to cause fear and alarm and offensive conduct Conducive to the breach of the peace.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges and he is to reappear in court in March 9, 2022.
