The staff of the Ghana Meteorological Division has suspended its nationwide strike.
The workers called off the strike after a meeting between the union, the Ministry of Communication, and management of the Ghana Meteorological Agency.
The meeting was organized over concerns raised by the union.
Chairman of the Divisional Union, Papa Nii Clegg disclosed that negotiations were ongoing hence the reason for them to call off the strike.
“We have decided to suspend the strike because the Communications Ministry as well as our management have reached out to us and are in talks with us.”
“We are only hoping that there will be concrete outcomes so that we can completely call off the strike.”
The workers declared a strike action on Friday what they described as poor working conditions.
They had alleged that the government had refused to address their concerns.
The workers complained about non-payment of certain allowances and poor infrastructure, among others.
