The national executives of the New Patriotic Party led by Chairman Freddy Blay has extended the sale of the polling station forms by one day.
The exercise has been characterized by violence and allegations of hoarding against leadership at the various constituencies.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, February, 21, 2022, the party’s chairman directed all committees in the various polling station to make sure all interested aspirants have access to the forms to prevent chaos.
The sale of the forms was to end today, but following the chaos that characterized the exercise, or has been extended.
The NPP, on Friday, January 28, 2022, issued guidelines to guide its internal elections at all levels this year.
Per the schedule, the constituency executive elections will be held at the Constituency Annual Delegates Conference to be supervised by a Constituency Election Committee between April 22 and April 24, 2022.
The regional executive elections will be held between May 20 and May 22, 2022, and will also be supervised by the Regional Elections Committee.
The party has also scheduled National Executive elections and the Annual National Delegates Conference for July 14 to July 16, 2022.
It would be supervised by a National Elections Committee.
An aspirant who wants to contest for the position of National Chairman will be required to pay GH¢20,000 as nomination fee while the Vice Chairman or chairperson will pay GH¢ 15,000 as nomination fee.
All aspirants contesting the for General Secretary will pay GH¢10,000 each while all other aspirants, including Treasurer and Organiser will each pay GH¢ 8,000 with the exception of the women’s wing, Nasara and youth wings, who would pay GH¢6,000 each.
The aspirant for the Regional Chairman position will pay GH¢5,000 as nomination fee while all other positions will pay GH¢2,000.
The Party said an aspiring constituency chairman would be required to pay GH¢ 500 while all other positions would pay GH¢200.
