A Ghanaianuniversity student, Najimudeen Sulemana, has expressed the joy he has in selling ‘Atadwe’ (Tiger Nuts) since it helps him raise money to pay for his fees in school.
Popularly known as ‘Atadwe Teacher’, the student disclosed that is the business her mother does, and as a means to help her raise enough to pay for his fees, he has decided to help her.
Appearing on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he said people always laugh at him, especially women, but that has not discouraged him.
He disclosed further that the family is also in the business of spices and other vegetables on a seasonable basis.
According to him, he started selling the Atadwee from basic school, but it has not been easy for him.
How friends laughed at him and called him names nearly discouraged him.
”But because I come from a financially handicapped family, I had no choice but to do it. I was more encouraged when people heaped praises on for taking the bold step,” he added.
After secondary school, he landed an opportunity to go the university but the resources were not there and so he decided to keep selling.
His mother discouraged him because she felt he was now an adult and should be selling.
”But I did not listen to her because I wanted to raise money so I could go to school,” he said.
