The Chief Executive Officer of the Coastal Development Authority (CODA), Jerry Ahmed Shaib, has disclosed that his outfit has successfully invested in 1,473 projects in coastal areas.
Out of these projects, 129 have been completed and they include school dormitories, bridges, and health facilities.
He said some other projects are under various stages of completion.
He was addressing a news conference in Accra on Wednesday where he lamented that some of the projects stalled due to the outbreak of the Covid-19.
In his address, the CEO of the government is fulfilling its $1 million per constituency through these projects.
On the amount spent on these projects, the CEO revealed an amount of Ghc162 million has been used as interim payments to contractors.
According to him, CODA has procured and distributed over 3,000 subsidized outboard motors to fisherfolk, including inland fishes; cutlasses, Wellington boots, and spraying guns among others.
He indicated CODA has also provided free health screening, medication, and surgeries for some communities and individuals and also sponsored free health insurance cards in the 109 constituencies under the authority.
Meanwhile, he had revealed the authority is working on constructing four beach stadia at Keta in the Bolta Region, Laboma in the Greater Accra Region, Komenda in the Central Region, and Elembele in the Western Region.
