Former Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has reiterated that he remains a registered member of the umbrella family and that no one can sack him.
Describing the NDC as a voluntary organization, he indicated that he cannot be sacked from a voluntary organization.
The party decided to suspend Koku Anyidoho him pending a final determination.
The NDC in a statement last year signed by General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketiah noted that the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) considered the report and recommendations of the National Disciplinary Committee on the case of misconduct and anti-party behavior brought Koku Anyidoho.
The party added that the Committee’s report found Koku Anyidoho guilty of the said allegations of misconduct and anti-party behavior.
“The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) acting in compliance of Article 48 (1) of the NDC Constitution unanimously adopted the report and accepts full responsibility for your expulsion from the Party.
“You are, therefore, by the decision of FEC expelled from the National Democratic and for that matter, you are no more recognized as a member the Party cannot carry yourself as such,” the party indicated.
But Koku Anyidoho speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, stated emphatically that he remains a member of the party and cannot be sacked.
He disclosed to host Kwabena Agyapong that attempts were made to trap him so he could be expelled but they failed and so, they used a tactical means to expel him.
The attempt he said was to prevent him from contesting the position of general secretary because they had the perception that he wanted to contest.
He said he remains a loyal member of the NDC adding, “nobody has been sacked from the NDC. Nobody can sack me from the NDC. The claim that I have been sacked is most ridiculous. Even after the death of the late Mills, I remained loyal to the party and the government. I have not received any notice to prove that I have been sacked,” he added.
