The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has announced through a statement that it has received an additional 88 Ghanaian students as part of the evacuation exercise from Ukraine.
These students were received from Hungary, Romania, and Poland, increasing the total number of students evacuated to 181 as of March 8, 2022 (12:00 pm).
The Ministry expressed worry over the refusal of some of the students to be evacuated.
It said the government had already paid for tickets and Covid-19 tests for persons with no intention to travel.
It added that the government will only pay for the cost of two nights hotel accommodation for all those who are received by its staff and representatives and lodged in hotels in the countries neighbouring Ukraine and other European countries.
These persons shall have their tickets and Covid-19 tests paid for.
It stressed that the obligation of the government ceases for those who would refuse to be evacuated after their two nights hotel accommodation.
