A Senior High School Student of Obuasi Senior High Technical School (SEC-TECH) has been butchered to death at Anyinamu in the Obuasi Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The incident happened at a nightclub, the Police have disclosed.
The victim, only identified as Captain went to the club at Anyinamu with friends but was butchered and stabbed multiple times by some gangs on Sunday during a 6th March jam.
ASP Dwamena Akenteng confirming the incident said a fight erupted and in the process, the other party went in to call a gang to come and fight the deceased and his friends.
In the process, the student was killed by the other party.
ASP Akenteng further revealed that the issue gangs and their related activities were increasing in the area and the Police will take steps in dealing with the matter.
He described it as troubling maintaining that they will deal ruthlessly with persons who want to foment trouble in the area.
Meanwhile, some residents of Obuasi are calling on the security agencies especially the police to close down night clubs in the Municipality since they form part of reasons why the youth engage in lawlessness in the area.
