The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Ahanta West Constituency, Ebenezer Kojo Kum, is not dead, the leader of the Majority group in Parliament Osei-Kyei-Mensah -Bonsu has disclosed.
The leader who appeared not happy about the fake news publication cautioned the media to tread cautiously when reporting on such stories.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he stated that the man has rather recovered miraculously from his ill health and has duly been discharged from the hospital.
The legislator noted that when he heard and read the news he felt disappointed and asked the media to be responsible in their reportage.
He indicated that although the MP was recently admitted to the hospital due to ill health, he has recovered and to the glory of God his doctors are even surprised that he has recovered from his ill health.
He told host Kwabena Agyapong that “the news is false. Ignore it. He is not dead. He was admitted but he has miraculously recovered from his ill health. So I will encourage the public to ignore the false publications and treat them with contempt”.
He stressed the need for the media to fact-check stories before publishing to prevent such an embarrassing situation like this one.
He condemned those who circulated the story without verifying it.
