Some drivers who ply the Achimota-Ofankor road have accused the Police of intimidation and extortion.
Sharing their grievances on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the drivers complained bitterly of how the some Police officers intimidate, insult, and abuse them.
They told host Kwabena Agyapong that when they are arrested on claims of traffic offences, the Police extort from them and threaten them with a court action.
They alleged that the Police take from them between Ghc150 and Ghc500 depending on the offence they are slapped with.
They have therefore appealed to the Police Administration to help address the issue since it is giving them a bad name.
Several of them described the experience as terrible and wants something done about it immediately.
To them, the Police have a responsibility to be professional and avoid the extortion of drivers.
